SINGLING A DAY OF THE YEAR TO CELEBRATE PARENT(FATHER OR MOTHER) IS UN-ISLAMIC Islam does not recognize the concept of Father’s Day or Mother’s Day. In fact, to single out just one day of the year to honour our fathers and mothers is an embarrassment and humiliation to our parents. Every single moment of our lives is for our fathers and our mothers. Shariah has placed much emphasis on the rights of parents. Allah Almighty says, {Your Lord has decreed, that you worship none save Him, and (that you show) kindness to parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age with thee, say not ‘Fie’ unto them nor repulse them, but speak unto them a gracious word.} (Al-Israa’ 17:23) Ibn Abbas reported that a man asked the Prophet (PBUH) about the best deeds: “The Messenger of Allah said, ‘Having faith in Allah and His Messenger, then honoring one’s parents.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim). Celebrating Father's or Mother’s Day is an innovated matter which the Prophet, peace and blessing
